Unable to install WIndows 2000

I tried to install Windows 2000 Professional and Windows 2000 Server
to VMware Workstation 4.0.0-4460 and 4.5.2-8848 with the same result:

1. mounted Windows 2000 CD-ROM from host OS (Windows 2000) to VMware
CD-ROM virtual drive
2. mounted SCSI driver (VMware-BusLogic-SCSIDriver-1.2.0.0.flp)
to floppy virtual drive
3. tried to install Windows 2000, F6 during setup, specified driver
on floppy

and then setup screen with text "Setup i starting Windows 2000" appears
and that is all! What is wrong?

I tried to use LSI adapter and driver Symbios Ultra3 PCI SCSI Driver
from their site (as recommended in VMware help),
it doesn't hang on page "Setup is starting Windows 2000",
but on next page it says there is no HDD to install it to...
I have created and mounted HDD!
