Mouse very choppy over Term Serv

I find that mouse movements are very choppy when I Term Serv into a machine
and then initiate a VM session. This also only happens when I allocate more
than 256MB of memory to the VM. Anything below that and the mouse movement
is silky smooth. I have 2GB of total system memory on the machine so that
should be plenty left over for the host and I don't have any other VMs
running on that machine.

Has anyone else seen this and is there anything that can be done here for
performance?

VMWare: 4.5.1 build-7568
Host: Windows Server 2003, 1Ghz, 1GB RAM

You might try unchecking "enable pointer shadow" under mouse properties of
the guest OS.
I have choppy cursor issues when I TS to an XP Pro machine and start VMs
inside that session. Sometimes VMWare will kick up a box telling me that
the pointer in the guest is incompatible with TS and that I should disable
pointer shadows (or something to that effect).
