Hi,

I have VMWare 4.5.2.8848 on Windows XP Pro Host and have Windows XP
Pro Guest also. I need to have the Guest use the existing network on
the Host.

How can I configure this easily? VMWare does a bad job of explaining
this.

Thanks

Hi,

As far as Networking is concern, there are 4 options. Bridge suits
your need since you want to use the external network. Make sure you
have a DHCP server which can provide you an IP address for the
guest.....

Host-Only = only for host and guest to communicate

NAT = this is used when you have single public and multiple private
address

Custom = Advance user where you can configure different switch and you
can add firewall in your network.

Problem solved, the NT Services where disabled for DHCP, NAT and Auth.

What exactly does the AUTH NT Service do?
