Hello,

I've installed vmware 4.5.2 for linux and a windows 2000 guest operating
system. Now I want to use a software for administration of my handy. I see
the serial Ports in the windows 2000 hardware list but the software can't
connect to my handy using the serial ports. Is it possible to use the
serial ports with windows 2000 as guest in vmware and if yes what nust I
do?

Thanks in advance.

Look at VM->Removable Devices->Serial 1 and see if it is checked. If not,
continue on and select Connect.

Hi,

unfortunately there's no entry to do that. VM->Removeable devices shows only
the following entries floppy0, ide0:0, ide0:1, ethernet and sound. There's
nothing to setup a serial port. I'm running vmware workstation 4.5.2 build
8848. Perhaps there's another possibility.
