I wonder if anyone familiar with the situation:
I run VMWARE 4.0.5 on XP Pro. Guests are W2K Server or Linux. From time to
time guests loose IP connection with host and thus with all my LAN.
Sometimes it helps if I reinstall VMWARE. Sometimes the connection were
recovering after I run anty spyware and fix detected problems. Now
antispyware does not detect anything and I cannot restore connection. I
happens regardless of what guest I run (Windows or Linux). Problem is
definetely on the host.

Any idea what happened?

a) De-install VMware and remove the device drivers for your network
interface card.
b) Then shutdown your PC and physically remove the network interface
card.
c) Boot up Windows XP and do a full Antivirus/Antispyware-Run with
different pieces of software.
d) Then shutdown the machine and insert the network interface card
again and let it be detetcted by Windows XP again.
e) The install a fresh VMware on your system.

If problem persists I fear either your NIC is broken or your operating
system is damaged.
bis dahin / kind regards
