Hopefully, that will do it. You may also have to edit the boot.ini.
Actually, you may be able to get started from a floppy disk and not
have to add any files to the hard drive (the steps on Sanbarrow's site
willl still have to be done, though).
Create a virtual floppy and format it with Win2003. Copy
NTdetect.com, NTldr and boot.ini to the floppy. Copy the VM SCSI
driver to the floppy as NTbootDD.sys.
You may have to adjust the boot.ini, and Google can help you on that
better than I can.
http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=mozclient&num=30&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&q=boot%2Eini
Now once you do get it to boot, then plug and play should find the
drivers. If you had to make adjustments to the boot.ini then copy
that to the root of the hard drive.
Good luck and let us know if it works. I may have to go down that
path myself in a year or so. If it doesn't work, please let us know
also.

Post by Conan the barbarianI have several VM Workstation 5 IDE VM's that were created in the
mode where they are compatible with GSX Server. Question is - Is it
possible to move these VM's to a server that is using SCSI drives
without recreating the VM's and the applications that were installed
on them? What settings do I need to change if I can move them? TIA

That being said, you'll probably still need to put the SCSI driver on
the VM. For 2000, XP, etc. you might get away with copying the SCSI
driver to c:\ntbootddy.sys. What OS is this for?
