Hi,

is there a dos-tool available which can be used to determine the hardware
type of VMWare?
Depending on the hardware type I would like to use/load different drivers
during unattended setup (unattend.txt).

Huh? The "hardware type" is nearly identical inside of VMware. About the
only thing that might change is the CPU type.... which drivers did you
have in mind?

I do not know if this is what he had in mind, but the number of hardware
devices can differ, as well as SCSI/IDE, for example.

Possibly, this is what he had in mind? Maybe he could clarifiy this?

Spiro.

Hm,
I'm thinking of a tool e.g. test-vm, which has as output: hey, this is a
esx-guest or this is a vmware workstation guest or anything else. E.g. I
have a tool (idhp) to detect the hardware type of HP products. So running
that tool or one similar it tells me, hey this is a d530 hardware or this is
a netserver lp2000 or this is a proliant dl380g3...
So is that available for vmware as well?
