Mac address on vmware

Is there a possibility to set a MAC address for a virtual machine and
always have this address when I start this virtual machine ?

Well, I know if you're running Workstation 5, the manual covers the
rules for manually setting a MAC address. Note, however, that the rules
do not permit setting an arbitrary MAC address (though I wish it would).
The reason for the restriction, I infer from the manual, is to avoid MAC
address conflicts with MAC addresses automatically generated by the VM.
